Scam Email: Jerry Watts

[This was forwarded by another person, it seems the scammer found him through his ad on Craigslist (notice how the first email is just so they can get a real email and begin writing directly to their potential victim)]

seen your site and wanted to help out, below is two messages i receved from one of the scammers. top one was the last i got, second just under is the original. and below that is the full message details.   hope this helps.   good job

i am also going to keep on with this scamer so he will send the payment, i found out last time this came up that the checks are fake with stolen info from real companys, and the senders are sending the checks with stolen shiping info so some other companys are having a really hard time with the checks and the shipping costs they are fighting off.

last time john deer paid the shipping lol. anyway yea if i can save the companys a lil hassle by giving them a heads up the ill try to help if i can

Glad to see you did not become his victim.

  9. Hello,
The check will be delivered to you today via FedEx,here is the FedEx tracking number 798639288270 the check was sent to you directly from my company account and it was for $3000 so proceed to your bank to deposit the check and the funds will be available in your account within 24 hours, after the check clears your bank usually within 24hours of deposit you will deduct $800 for your Oak China Cabinet Hutch and send the excess fund of $2200 to my shipper so he can pickup the fund to pickup the Oak China Cabinet Hutch and other items i purchased to be picked up.
Note:this is a depository account so don't try to cash the check instantly because the bank won't cash it for you therefore you need to take the check to your bank regardless of the bank you're using perhaps Bank of America,J. P. Morgan

I GOT CHECK TODAY REAL BULLSHIT

    "Okay,
The check will be sent to you Today via FedEx Express Mail and you will receive it Tomorrow or latest Saturday Morning the check will be sent with the fund to cover cost of item and shipment so once your bank verify and cash the check you will deduct your fund and send the excess funds to the shipper so they will proceed with the pickup."

Should I let him send the check. I figured it was a scam but I kind of like toying with these people. This is the 2nd time this has happened with this thing...

  11. Got one from Chris Hutson today too same thing… Add Pastor Julian Kozlowski Jr to the list!! He tried the same thing but through Paypal. Wanted me to ship to a "Friend" in Africa! I said no then he said to send to a Friend Keith Brown in Chicago. When I googled the address I found out that the address he wanted it shipped to was in foreclosure. Not sure how these guys do it but it's got to be some sort of scam. I googled his name and it was on one of those "you have a $5000 prize due to you" kind of things… Crazy people out there! Bottom line if it seems too good to be true it probably is!

I am very grateful to hear back from you. I need it as a surprise gift for a ministry friend's child that I had the privilege of meeting last time I ministered in Chicago, IL. The price is fine with me since it works great. I will pay you using PayPal because it pays and secures both parties in the transaction. Kindly provide me with your Pay Pal email account. I will be adding a shipping fee

    Reply ASAP,

  20. Someone should tell him they cashed the check and see where they want the money to go to and contact police with info

    ReplyDelete
  21. I do not think the authorities consider it a crime until there is actual money loss (which of course is too late). You would think this would be an approach to catch these guys - get them when they go to pick up the money. Almost like To Catch a Pedator - and the minute they pick it up, have the police waiting there.

Unfortunately, most of these deals are too small for police to dedicate their resources to (and scammers know this). They tend to go after gangs who have perpetrated a large number of scams and the money loss has added up to something substantial. Then they go after them to stop them from doing more damage, but of course the money is already gone.

But I like your idea. Just like the guy going after fake online dating people, someone should do a reality show to be waiting for the scammers when they pick up the money. Pitch it to Dateline!

  22. Same thing happened to me. I received an email from Chris Hutson tenance019@yahoo.com he said he was interested in buying my "item", first red flag when they call it an "item", I googled his name and email and this popped up. Thanks for the warning y'all.
