Sure, "she" wants you to go borrow a colleague's credit card machine so they can give you a stolen credit card number (typically not yet reported as stolen but will result in a chargeback) and get you to forward your good money to them via Western Union for their shipping overpayment. "She" wants you to go out of your way in order to get scammed. Yes, very ironic.
Also, what the heck is a "manure terminal charging machine"?? Is that one only farmers have? (smile) So lame. I hate scammers.

Interesting! We are a fine art gallery and I have had several emails from this 'Lynda James' lady. I have also had an email from her 'shipment' company asking us for money to courier her items that she is supposedly going to buy from us using her Western Union transfer!

My google search of the email address shows this person trying to scam an IPhone seller from Indonesia in October. Here how the email exchange went for my Leica on sale:

My company just got the note from VICTORIA CROWE, with the exact same wording in the email. We encountered another one a few months ago, and this other idiot kept emailing us and calling us with new stolen credit cards for weeks claiming these were his "colleagues" cards. We traced one to be the stolen credit card of a 19 year old girl in Texas. This guy was the dumbest criminal ever. He called us several times a week, until one of our customer service people started yanking him around with questions he couldn't answer, like what time it was currently in the country he was supposedly calling from. He finally stopped bothering us. We reported it to the credit card companies and to the local police, who launched an investigation. The police requested copies of all the emails. Apparently there's something embedded in the IP address that helps the investigators locate the source. Always report these to your local police. They know who to contact to get an investigation going.

So many people feel the need to reply one more time. But no need to. Just ignore them. It's a numbers game for them and they will surely move on when they realize you are no longer a potential victim.

Yes, I've seen this variation of the same scam. In this version, the person who will be supposedly coming to pick them up and drop them off becomes the part of the scam that a "shipping company" usually is - eventually there will be some story about why you will be paid more than what is owed and are asked to forward the difference to the person driving this student, via Western Union. Their payment will be fraudulent, there is no student and there is no driver- only the scammers themselves at the other end of Western Union waiting to collect your good money.

ReplyDeleteMany thanks for information ref scam. On investigation it would appear that Laurence S Guleno died in the late 90s in the USA, so what he is doing ordering wool I have no idea. Needless to say he will not be getting any.

Exact wording as emails from Lynda James of Norway and Victoria Crowe from Thailand. Thank God I saw it for what it was but only because we have 2 websites, one is my husband's rigging business and the other is my photo art site. This Kyle Hunter did not specify a particular product or service so I had no idea from where he got my email address or what he wanted to purchase. When I told him that no machines leave the dock before payment is received in full at the bank he quickly threw in a request to use PayPal for payment. By that time I had Googled him and found this site. Thank you for being here to confirm the scammer's identities. Mo
