ReplyDeleteI was scammed by Steven Patrick regarding buying an artwork of mine, but when I saw the envelop with no return address and 3 checks for over $900 each, I knew it was a scam. Hadn't given it too much thought before that except it was odd that he kept saying he'd written a check, but I never got it.
Anyway, this morning I received a priority mail from Aluminum Company of America with a legitimate address, and inside a check for $2800 from PNC Bank in Pittsburgh, from the Children's Institute of Pittsburgh, again a legitimate address. No note, no e-mail, and an unreadable signature. In the memo section it says "Payment."
I'm wondering if you've seen any scams related to either Alcoa or Chidren's Institute?
p.s. thanks for your very informative blog on art scams... wish I'd looked up Steven Patrick in the first place, but at least I didn't get tricked.
If you are selling your car this man will send a text message' pretending a buyer to reply via email only as his phone has no credit to make a phone call.Avoid him as he is hecker.
