Scam Email: John Henry or John Smith

So many things about this scam is wrong. Makes it easy to know it is not for real. Lazy on the scammer's part. But good for us.

  1. I must be a lucky person to be on this scammer's list twice, because I just got the exact same email as above - again. And oddly (or not so oddly), at about the exact same time as I got the last one last night. With all the same misspellings. I assume they have their massive mailings all automated and timed.

  2. Got a third copy of this exact same scam email at 6:30 am this morning. I wonder how many times I'm going to receive this one.

    Hi,
Thanks for the response . I'm going on a vacation to London but I will instruct my assistant to prepare and mail your payment which I'm sure you will get in about 3 - 4 business days. I'll add $20 extra for the delay. I'll pay by M O or cashier check so send me your info (i.e full name, mailing address and your phone number) so payment can be mailed out immediately. I will also make arrangement for pick-up which will be after you must have received and cashed the payment. Awaiting your info. Thanks for your understanding and patience.
Expecting to hear from you soon.P.S Advise if there is any defect
    John

  6. This John Henry sent me a note saying he wants to give me a donation but the thing is that he doesn't use a Gmail address but he uses the John Henry company address which makes me think it is legit!
