Scam Email: John Cool

Got two scam emails in succession last night, one at 12:34 am and the second at 12:57 am. It was probably the same scammer sending out a massive mailing because both had similar characteristics - generic fake first name with no last name, both signed just "purchasing manager", and the email content and format basically identical, and sent so close together in time. So I'll post both of them below.

first one received:
Return-path: [dientito@gitserver2net.gitserver2.net]

  3. So I am not going to receive any $$. My Husband received the same txt saying the Morris family wanted to donate $$ to him. I thought YaHoo.... But then I checked out the scammers site on lottery winners and found that we are not the only ones. My husband and I laughed and said WOW we were rich for a minute. Thanks to the Dumb person that is sending out those false statements we actually felt like we were going to be able to go to Walmart and get some groceries.
Oh Well. Congrats to the Morris family...

  4. Dear Kathleen,

Here is another scam address for you list:

    jjgracy2007@gmail.com

John Gracy wrote me inquiring about commissioning a painting for his wife for their anniversary. I was suspicious, and checked your list. When I didn't find him, I hoped for the best and replied to him. I have done a few husband's gifts to wives before and their first emails are often a bit stilted.

Anyway, his reply was all about no need for me to ship when it was done, he'd send the full amount instead of the 50% I require for commissions, he was moving anyway and would have his shipper pick it up, etc. --- familiar from other scam attempts.

Thank you so much for the work you do keeping this list. It helps me feel less bad whenever this happens.
