Scam Email: Emma David

Here is an email I received this morning from another artist. Notice how the scammer sent another fake email from a fake shipper to make it look more legitimate and to try and move the scam along more quickly, before their potential victim figures out it's a scam.

Hello Kathleen,

I googled the first line of the last email I had received from "Emma David" emmasupperstore@gmail.com  As you had mentioned the disjointed English and odd quantities of work sent off alarm bells.  A total waist of my time but at least time is all I lost.

If you could add "her" name to the list I would much appreciate it.

Many Thanks
Tiffany

    1. I got a very similar email myself and luckily I was suspicious enough to research before doing anything else. They gave an address of 1360 Brentwood Road, Bay Shore, NY 11706. It doesn't exist

    2. Just received a text asking me to e-mail kristiemma@yahoo.com wanting Mary Kay product and will not use my personal web site. I told here that her e-mail address has been noted on the internet as a scam and to use my personal web page and pay for her order there if she wants product.

  4. I also received a text and email from Kristi Emma asking to purchase Mary Kay products. I was immediately suspicious because the verbiage in the message wasn't natural. The message obviously wasn't written by someone who grew up in America. I replied anyway just to see where things would go. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why someone would go to all this trouble for a couple of hundred dollars of Mary Kay projects. Well today I got my answer! It's one of those bogus check schemes.... They send a large check for much more than the actual amount of the products - which they claim was a mistake - and request you send them a refund of the overpayment. I don't know who would be dumb enough to fall for this scam, but I'm sure there are some people out there, so be warned! Below is the email I received and my response to it:

Hello Good Morning, i just want to let you know that i had an auto accident when trying to rush to IA when i had that my dad just died and was admitted into the hospital and i have been in hospital since yesterday night for proper treatment. It was only by the grace of God that i am still alive now. I just want to update you that i have a good news for you regarding the payment. I had just read from my debtor that the payment has been issued out to you and that you will be receiving it soon. But there is a big problem, cos she informed me that she sent out the whole amount she was owing me instead of her to just send you the amount for the products i am ordering from you,i was so mad at her when i heard this cos i don't know if my money will be safe with you when you got it.I wanted her to send the remaining of the funds to my Doctor for my medications and bills.... I just don't know what to do cos i am totally confused, please .. may i know if my
money will be safe with you when you get the payment and will I be able to get the remaining of my money after you might have deducted your amount for the products?.... Because I need you to have the remaining money sent to the Doctor as soon as you receive the payment...

Kindly email me back as soon as you receive this email..

    This was my response:

    Hi Kristi.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. There should be no problem regarding your payment. Just have your "debtor" stop payment on the check or money order, and I will send the unprocessed check/money order back to you as soon as I receive it. If you are still interested in purchasing the Mary Kay items you mentioned, please order from my Mary Kay website:

You can purchase the items you desire with a pre-paid credit card which can be obtained at any local Walgreens, Schnucks, CVS, or Walmart in your community.

    Thanks you
